Holiday Fashion: Florals and Bolds

22 May 2016

Yesterday I paid a visit to New Look, in order to find some nice clothes to wear on our holiday to Germany next week *squeal*. While pondering through the shop, I managed to pick up a couple of things I honestly thought I'd never wear. Things that, if somebody had told me this time last year that I would wear them, I'd have laughed and said 'Absolutely no way'. But guess what? I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try things I never thought I'd see on myself.

The first item of clothing is this loose, burnt orange cami-vest. I just wanted a nice, loose-fitting top, and I came across this. At £7.99, it was pretty reasonable. I've never really been one to wear burnt orange, but was instantly drawn to this, and I thought it would make a nice change to the greens and the blues I usually wear. I had a vision of wearing this with white jeans and wedges.

I used to have a very love-hate relationship with white jeans, but now I've come to realise just how much I love them. I decided that I didn't want to spend the summer wearing my usual navy leggings, but instead I wanted to add a pop of colour. White jeans make me feel very feminine and sophisticated and I think these are going to be one of my staple pieces this summer. Just to add to the greatness, these particular jeans were on offer and I managed to buy them for a very reasonable £14.99.

Next, we have these very comfortable black cotton shorts. When I found these, I instantly knew they'd be a great addition to my wardrobe. I'd been wanting a pair of black cotton shorts for a while, and I thought that these would not only be great in the summer, but also for when I coach gymnastics, on days where it's too warm to wear my usual Adidas capri leggings.I believe that the most important element to an outfit is comfort, and these are definitely comfortable.

Last, but certainly not least, is this floral cami crop top. Honestly, I've never been one to wear crop tops. I've always felt quite self conscious and not fully confident in myself when wearing them. However, I feel that I've reached a stage where I now feel confident in a certain type of crop top. I'm not the biggest fan of wearing very short crop tops, but the ones that come just below my belly button I love. At £7.99, this top was very reasonably priced.

Overall, I'm very happy with the things I bought, and I think that this year is going to be the best yet, in terms of fashion. Let me know in the comments what you like to wear on holiday, or any recent purchases you've made.
