A Month of Work & Brace Removal

11 November 2016

It occurred to me that I haven't yet written a stripped-back, more casual post. You know, the kind of posts that don't really follow a specific theme or structure. In the past, I've never really gone into the more 'everyday' aspects of my life, but I feel like enough has gone on in the past couple of months to talk about.

Lately, I've realised just how jam-packed my life has become, in a matter of only a few months. There's so much to stay on top of right now, which has its advantages and disadvantages, for sure, but it means I'm getting used to change and I actually feel really fulfilled.  I love my job so much, because I get to do many different things and I feel very comfortable; there hasn't been a moment when I'd rather have been at home. Personally, I feel as if that's the make or break factor of a job - if you don't feel comfortable after at least a couple of months, you might want to consider working elsewhere. But that's just my opinion.

Anyway, I think it's time I addressed something very important - it's nearly December! I'm pretty much ready to start celebrating, but I'm afraid I'll just have to wait a few more weeks until I get out the Christmas decs. Seeing all the decorations and Christmassy food in the shops has made me feel really festive, though.

In the meantime, I've been counting down the days 'til I get my braces off(!). Even though it's only been seven months, I'm more than ready to get them off. Honestly, though, they haven't been too bad. I haven't felt as restricted as I thought I would. In case you were wondering, they're coming off on the 23rd of this month, which I'm so excited about. I'm just so ready to not worry about damaging them, and just being able to brush my teeth normally. As well as not having little squares of metal on my teeth.

It has most definitely been a full-on month for me - I've had assessments to revise for and I've been pretty cold for the majority of November. In fact, I think these have probably been the coldest couple of weeks of the year, so far. At home, I've spent most of my free evenings in sweatshirts and jogging bottoms, with fuzzy socks on my feet.

Right now, it's a Friday evening, I've got a sweatshirt on yet again, but I finally feel warm(er) and relaxed after what has been a pretty chilly and full-on week.
