For a while now, embroidered clothing has become a real trend in high street stores. Embroidered jeans, tops, dresses, you name it. So of course, I had to purchase some of this clothing and try out the trend for myself.
I was on the hunt for some new jeans anyway, but I thought it might be worth buying a pair of jeans from the Jenna range at New Look. Personally, I always go to New Look for jeans, since I know the sizing of them and the quality is always amazing, for not-so-bad prices. I'd never tried any of the Jenna jeans before, but thought it might be worth it, since I'd seen them online and thought how nice they looked. Plus, I found an embroidered pair (how many times have I written the word 'embroidered' now?), which you can find here, although they seem to be out of stock on the site at the moment.
I have to say, I'm a fan of the fit of Jenna jeans. The hems, which are frayed in this case, sit just above the ankles, so not like your average skinny jeans. Furthermore, the jeans themselves have a slightly looser fit and seem to have a higher rise – not quite high-waisted but almost so. On another note, I love the colour of mine – I wouldn't normally go for light denim but, with the combination of the rips and the embroidery, this colour works well for me.
As well as the jeans, I also bought another embellished item – this simplistic, embroidered t-shirt (which can be found here), the kind that goes well with just about everything. I really like the different take on the embroidery and the fact that it has not been overdone. The colours are striking but are really lovely. The top itself is a basic fit, with longer sleeves and a slightly 'boxy' fit about it. It really is the perfect top for Spring and Summer.
It seems to have been a while since I last wrote a fashion-related post, but it's quite possibly my favourite kind to write. I have to say, embroidered clothing could also be one of my favourite trends so far this year; it adds such a girly, feminine feel to any piece of clothing.
What's your favourite fashion trend of the year so far?
